One day he wanted biscuits and sausage gravy, but we were out of the canned biscuits I told him no problem whipped up the most beautiful fluffy wonderful biscuits. He looked at me and asked me. How long have you been able to make biscuits? I told him for many years, but if you knew I could cook them you wouldn't make me breakfast anymore. A girl has to hold something back. I like to cook but find that I don't want to take the time for just 2 of us, especially when DH eats it in 5 mins and it takes me at least an hour or more to make a good meal. I collect cookbooks too, but must admit that I've not even made one recipe from some of them. The pictures are pretty though.Darhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05960683751935834250noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6418888800522073558.post-10114608302646671722014-06-18T00:27:38.703-04:002014-06-18T00:27:38.703-04:00Sounds to me like you are a good cook...but I too ...Sounds to me like you are a good cook...but I too tire of cooking or having to com eup with something good. After almost 43 years of marriage, I am a little tired of cooking, but my husband thinks I am a great cook so that helps! I do try to cook meals that we can get more than one dinner out, that cuts down on my time in the kitchen at least. Have fun trying out those new recipes!Rebecca in AKhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06150717319142161546noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6418888800522073558.post-773054900291522302014-06-17T23:22:31.161-04:002014-06-17T23:22:31.161-04:00That sounds delicious! Hopefully the house is standing and the fire department did not have to make a visit to your house this evening =) I'd hate to have your stash and beautiful quilts damaged.
You may find your granddaughter likes to cook and maybe she'll take over with supervision for the summer! It is always easy to grill some meat and throw it over a green salad - a nice light dinner on a hot summer day.Deb Ahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04206921657695916898noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6418888800522073558.post-58256016420015751972014-06-17T19:29:42.653-04:002014-06-17T19:29:42.653-04:00Oh dear... hope you don't burn the house down ...Oh dear... hope you don't burn the house down or get food poisoning!
Good luck!Quilter Kathyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16870660916547202929noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6418888800522073558.post-73334592393453534102014-06-17T15:51:31.599-04:002014-06-17T15:51:31.599-04:00alas... i feel your pain!! i do LOVE to cook.. bu...alas... i feel your pain!! i do LOVE to cook.. but time is not on my side, but i'll tell ya, i do know that i have had cookbooks i've never cooked from! but they are so fun to look at ... so it's all GOOD!! {alas... perhaps not so much??!!} looking forward to your next post!MarveLes Art Studioshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05392380425939176762noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6418888800522073558.post-73907342891960576932014-06-17T15:46:56.888-04:002014-06-17T15:46:56.888-04:00I don't cook very often. Not only do I really not enjoy it, but I find it too difficult to pull myself away from my quilting. ;-) Thankfully my hubby knows this (and more importantly tolerates it and even more importantly loves me in spite of it) and will grill something for dinner. He's not a great cook, but he does a fine job at the grill, so we don't go hungry. ;-) Maybe I need to order that cookbook and actually cook once in a while.
