I rarely do SID on my customers' quilts because it is way more expensive because I do have to use rulers. You are right, curved lines are so much easier then straight lines with a longarm! Your quilt is beautiful and I can't wait to see it finished!!!Farm Quilterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01670652033638218941noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6418888800522073558.post-21357425036842986272013-10-10T08:41:11.862-04:002013-10-10T08:41:11.862-04:00Your quilt is just beautiful! I too stitch in it, over it, beside it, there is a blog I read recently that she was talking about FMQ on a domestic machine using how to use rulers and the the "hopping foot" http://freemotionquiltingadventures.blogspot.com/. I haven't tried it yet, but I learned a lot from what I read the other day. You are doing a great job. Love your pebbles. Keep plugging away, one block at a time and before you know it - it will be done and looking fabulous. I don't envy you this job, but it will be worth it when you are finished.Darhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05960683751935834250noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6418888800522073558.post-86128646101760116772013-10-09T23:19:45.404-04:002013-10-09T23:19:45.404-04:00Soooo pretty :) You and I have both been nose-...Soooo pretty :) You and I have both been nose-to-the-mill with the Jinny Beyer fabrics, eh? I love Moonglow, and yours is going to be wonderful. No kidding!! Those pebbles do take F O R E V E R to put in - worth it, though. I think on longarms, they need rulers to do the SID. There's no way to keep the machine perfectly straight, particularly on a diagonal, without them.<br />Lynettehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10424861624240818479noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6418888800522073558.post-43335794033885661152013-10-09T19:18:15.191-04:002013-10-09T19:18:15.191-04:00looks gorgeous! I avoid straight lines.... how about bubbles too on the borders, maybe on every other one and SID on every other one? and dare I say feathers on the outer one? or do some sort of grid work, like planks I guess, to mimic the log cabin feel?beaquilterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09854296867039522197noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6418888800522073558.post-34475640588358606882013-10-09T17:29:49.188-04:002013-10-09T17:29:49.188-04:00You'll be fine...just don't give up...it&#...You'll be fine...just don't give up...it's such a stunning quilt and will be even more so once your special quilting is finished!
