A Good News Day!!!

It was a happy day in Blog Land for me!  A couple of giveaway wins – always a good thing, right? =^..^=  And a couple of fun new projects to tackle – Yay!!!

First, the GIVEAWAY WINS!

I learned that I have won this incredible Bluebird Spring pin from Leslie over at MarveLes Art Studios!  Seriously?  I won this?  Unbelievable!!  It's a heart and it's blue - what's NOT to love?!?

Bluebird Spring - Original art piece by Leslie McNeil
Isn’t it just amazing?!? I absolutely LOVE it!!!  Leslie is an amazing fiber artist who makes her own background palettes for her wonderfully embellished pieces.  Go HERE to check out her blog.  Many thanks to Leslie for such a beautiful win!!!

Then, to ice the cake, I received in the mail this sweet Irish Blessings Pillow pattern from Vickie over at Spun Sugar Quilts!

Can you believe it?  I never seem to win anything, and then Shazam – two wins in one day!  (Well technically I won this shamrock stitchery last week ;*)  Isn’t this just adorable?  Irish blessings are among my favorite sayings, and I will very much enjoy stitching this up for next St. Patty’s Day.  A great big Thank You to Vickie for sending me this little treasure!  Go HERE to visit Vickie's blog and get to know her.

As for NEW PROJECTS ……two new & exciting opportunities popped up on the horizon in the past few days --

This is an email I received a few days ago ….

I am so excited to let you know that you will be participating in our Spring Silhouette Challenge!
You will be receiving a sample package of our new fabric “Silhouettes”, have fun with them and please send us a picture of your creation by May 1st 2012.
     Happy Quilting!
Thank you,
Edyta Sitar

In case you are not familiar with Edyta, she is the creator of Laundry Basket Quilts.  She is famous for combining batiks with civil war fabrics to create quilts that vibrate with warmth and beauty.  This is especially exciting news for me because Edyta is coming to our Music City Quilt Guild as a guest speaker and teacher in early May.  This project will be such a pleasure to work on!!!  If you are not familiar with Edyta's work or would like to learn more about the Spring Silhouette Challenge, click HERE to visit her blog.

And last, but not least, I have also been notified that I am going to be one of Quiltmaker’s testers of the blocks for their next 100 Blocks issue!!!  This is going to be fun, fun, fun!!  Imagine getting to work on those sweet blocks even before they come out in the magazine!

Looks like I’m going to be busy for a while…. Wonder how that might affect getting my UFO’s done?  And I was on such a good roll too!  =^..^=

Gotta run & get some sleep – Divas Guild meets tomorrow and I’m looking forward to spending the day sewing with my BFF’s!

Hugs & Blessings!
Teresa
