"Hootie" debuted in the 7th volume of 100 Blocks...
Here is a mock-up of how it will look to include owls of all the different colors :)
My background fabric is a very dark blue with gold stars in it, so I have to be very careful about the BLUE fabrics I use for my owl so he will show up. Either that, or I need to put the blue owl in the moon instead of the purple one - hmmmmm.......now there's an idea!!! These are the fabrics I'm currently considering, but the picture is not great and the colors are somewhat washed out ..... it would help if I could remember to take pictures before it gets dark :)
I also want to make my own version of this Thangles Cat quilt that I found on Pinterest....click HERE to find the pattern and more information. I wanted to do this one last year but never got to it. This is the year!!!
I'm planning to work on some blue kitties today if I can find time in between NFL playoff games :)
I'm thinking of just sewing them all together and making a big block from each color, something like this picture from Pinterest which indicates it was taken from Craftsy ....
or .... I really love these wonderful diamonds being used for the 2014 Olympics in Russia ....
In addition, I still have to decide on setting ideas for the Fantasia and Lone Starburst blocks I made for the RSC last year and get them assembled into flimsies. I really don't want them to become UFO blocks!!!
Come along and join in the Rainbow fun.....
January projects are HERE!!!
Hugs & Blessings!

SO many ideas . . . and, if you are like me, so little time!
ReplyDeleteI love those fabric pieces in the colored blocks idea.
ReplyDeleteLove your post title!!! HAHAHAH!!! anddd...love both those quilts! Looks like you are going to have a lot of fun this year with the rainbow challenge!
ReplyDeleteI'm giggling at your title, too -- we play it out at Joc's house every time I'm there! So you can guess I loved both your owl quilt layout and the pussycats ... how fun!! But the owl one is really darling, especially in the rainbow!! Lots of bright and lively color play here this morning -- matches my mood!! :)
ReplyDeleteI love those owls!! I vote for the blue owl in front of the moon ... then you can use whatever blues you like. More ideas and things on my to-do list than I have time to even think about getting to ... I am not nearly as productive as you. ;-)
ReplyDeleteSo many great ideas! What cut owls. They are the rage now.
ReplyDeleteLove the owls! And you have a lot of good ideas for all those scraps you have :-D
ReplyDeleteWhen ever I need a SHOT of COLOR - I just drop by!!! Cheers me right up!!
ReplyDeleteBlessings and hugs!!
Yummy color inspiration! I really like the Olympic diamonds - had not seen those before. Whatever you do this year, I know it will be bursting with color!
ReplyDeleteSo many great ideas! I can't wait to watch them start to take shape. Those Olympic panels are really fun.
ReplyDeleteWow love the quilt ideas. That diamond quilt is my favorite!
ReplyDeleteSo many fabulous ideas! The owls are adorable. I love the diamond panels too.
ReplyDeleteThis is the first time I had seen the Olympic panels. Wow! I am totally inspired to try this out with the crumb diamonds I have been saving for no apparent purpose. A finite rectangle of each with some "modern" white space. What a fun idea!
ReplyDeleteWhat fun owls!! I think the blue owl in front of the moon is a good call.
ReplyDeleteOh, the diamonds--I definitely vote for the diamonds!! : )
The owl blocks are so cute! Can't wait to see how you make this!
ReplyDeleteI am participating this year too! OOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I can't wait to see your owls and kitties!
ReplyDeleteThose owls are adorable! So many great ideas.
ReplyDeleteGreat projects. Have fun!
ReplyDeleteOh, those owls are so cute! I have a different cat pattern and never thought of rainbow cats so I might use that idea. And, I always love crumb quilts especially in rainbow colors.
ReplyDeleteI think we need to add a bunch more sewing hours to the day! Love the idea of putting your blue in the yellow moon. Such pretty projects you are taking on this year.
ReplyDeleteThat owl is going to be cute. Have fun!
