The monthly link-ups will work in nicely with my UFO Challenge at my Guild, so I can kill two
For February the number "1" was called, and #1 on my list is to finish piecing the Bargello Tree Skirt by Martha Eddy....

I started this project at Runaway Retreat two years ago. It is not an easy pattern, but definitely a rewarding one! My feature fabric is a wonderful print by Jason Yenter ...
The selvedge is no longer attached, but I believe it is from his Winter Wonderland collection. So far I have two sections complete and attached, with another almost ready. That would put me at close to halfway done.
I remember spending about two days on getting this much done at retreat, so I know it won't go quickly. I do think I can finish the piecing before the end of the month though. One advantage is that I am going to retreat at the end of the month, so I can hurry up and finish it there if I have to :*)
Wish me luck!!!
Hugs & Blessings!
Teresa

That is beautiful. I have a couple tablerunners made with that fabric too. It was in several different colorways, if I remember correctly. I know you will get it done by the end of the month, no luck needed lady. You can do it!!!
ReplyDeleteI do wish you luck. It looks like one that takes lots of concentrating. Can you really do that at a retreat? I'll have to try it sometime. : )
ReplyDeleteThis is just wonderful! Even if you get close - I would stand and appaud.
ReplyDeleteGood luck, it will be wonderful !
ReplyDeleteWhat a stunning project to work on this month. Go girl!
ReplyDeleteI remember when you picked out the fabrics and started that tree skirt. It's going to be absolutely spectacular when you finish it ... hope to see the finished quilt in a month's time. Good luck, my friend!
ReplyDeletedrool! LOVE the yenter fabrics, drool!! double-triple drool....
ReplyDeleteif you're on FB, show on the yenter fan group
Oh My!! This tree skirt is GORGEOUS!! I am going to have to get this pattern, since giving Christmas Tree skirts as wedding gifts is "my thing." This one would be for a very special couple. I can't wait to see your finish! Keep sewing, keep sewing, keep sewing!! :)
ReplyDeleteThat is a really great way to tackle UFOs. They stack up, don't they, and sometimes they feel rather draining when you think about them, so to focus on one each month is a great way to finish projects. I love that tree skirt and I can see why it took so long to piece! Best wishes on a finish for you :-)
ReplyDeleteWow....I LOVE that pattern and your fabrics are gorgeous. Good luck with it.
ReplyDeleteThat is lovely and your fabrics are gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI'm amazed at how many of us (including myself) make these complicated things and then fold them up and put them in a pile. I'm glad you are going to work on this one because it's beautiful.
ReplyDeleteWow! That looks incredible. What a gem in your crown ; )
ReplyDeleteIt is absolutely gorgeous! And I recently found Jason Yenter and discovered I love his fabrics. :)
