Love You!

I finished up a sweet, sweet little mini quilt top the other day that I just couldn't hardly wait to show you!  

Am I right?  You love it, don't you?  Hahaha - I knew it!  That might be why designer Jacquelynne Steves named this design "Love You!"  Isn't it just the cutest little thing?  It finishes at about 26" square - perfect mini-quilt size!  (And it goes very nicely with my red sofa too LOL!!!)

Wouldn't you just love to make one of these for your Valentine's Day decor?  It was really quick and easy to make - I pieced it in an afternoon! - and I loved being able to play in some of my hoarded neglected hearts fabrics - YUM!!!

There are directions for both an applique version like mine, as well as an even quicker one without applique.  Well..... I should clarify by saying not exactly like mine .....

Instead of drawing the inner heart, I chose to fussy cut four of the border fabric hearts for the center block appliques.  As soon as I saw the first one fused down, I knew I was going to ♥ it :-)  I also made a few minor changes to accommodate the fabrics I had to work with.  Betcha can't find what's different in mine from Jacquelynne's!

The Art of Home - new Summer E-Magazine!

Jacquelynne Steve's newest Summer Edition of her The Art of Home E-magazine went out to subscriber's email boxes today!  Did you get yours?

As promised, a few of the items included were designed by 'Yours Truly' - me - using Jacquelynne's wonderful and whimsical Cottage Charm fabric line!  My See-N-Go Bags are the perfect summer bags for us gals (and guys!) on the go with our projects!!!  See what you need to include at a glance and never again pick up the wrong project bag! As you can see in the below picture, my Happy Dance Socks project in progress fits perfectly in this one :)

This large See-N-Go Project Bag is roomy enough for your hand project, but definitely not bulky.  Approximately 10"x12", it fits nicely into a large carryall bag, or grab it up and carry it along all by itself.  I used one of Jacquelynne's lovely panel prints for the front side....

One of my favorite features of this bag is the inner zippered pocket, perfect for scissors, needles, or anything else you might want to find easily or keep safe from your delicate yarn or fabrics.....

I've already made 3 of these and I'm finding they are like candy - I can't make enough of them!!!

This little See-N-Go Pencil Bag is totally versatile!  Of course mine coordinates with the larger Project Bag :)  You can put pencils, tools, makeup - just about anything you want to carry along with you - in this bag!

Fully lined, so no messy strings!!!

I made one See-N-Go Pencil Bag using the vinyl which is the perfect see-through fabric, 

and then I also made one using screening!

Even though screening may not be quite as see-through as vinyl, I love using it in my bag projects because it is so easy to work with and is a little more durable too. You can find it on a roll at most hardware stores :)

My Selvedge Needlecase project was designed to provide a cute way to use up selvedges from this wonderful fabric line!  As you may know, I love to save my selvedges - they are just too darn cute to throw away!

And of course, they cost just as much as any other strip of your fabric - right?

And it's SO EASY to make!!!  I'm already working on a few others as gifts :)

You've heard me rave about Jacquelynne and her amazing talent before - remember these cute projects I made this past year with her fun and playful Happy Town line???

First, I made a cute little Preemie Quilt for one of our Guild's charity projects.  I just love the way Jacquelynne adds stripes and dots to her fabric lines so we can add wonderful geometric interest to our quilts!!!  You all know how much I love me some stripes & dots, right????  Well, they don't come much cuter than with cats & dogs :*)

And I know you haven't forgotten my little grandson's Hudson's Heroes play quilt, right?

Just this past week at Thanksgiving, Grandpa and Hudson were down on the floor playing with cars on the Happy Town roadway panel that I used to back this fun quilt....don't you just love Hudson's cute little diapered bottom showing there?  Why do all kids have a problem keeping their pants up? LOL!!
