Don & I arrived in Monroe (just south of Charlotte) about 5pm after all day on the road. We were ready for some quality visiting time with kids & grand kids!
We soon learned that it is just as hot in Carolina as it is in Tennessee right now. Just before dark, a huge dark cloud rolled in and the thunder started to rumble threateningly. Before long the winds were blowing wildly, and the heavens dumped sheets of driving rain and quarter-sized hail! The thunder & lightening show rivaled some fireworks I've seen ;-) !!!
The next thing we heard was the sound of splitting wood.... When your house is surrounded by trees, that is not a welcome sound! Anna & I both looked out in time to see this huge limb come down!
This is my son bending over his 4-wheeler last night after the storm to see if it was as badly crushed as the camper in the background. See it on its side?!
The camper was a really old one and worth little, but they use the 4-wheeler every day. Fortunately, the camper actually saved the 4-wheeler from serious harm!
So there's going to be a lot of work cleaning up the mess.
Reaghan is doing her part!
We are all just very grateful that no greater harm was done!
Now we can get Back to the fun stuff..... Visiting with loved ones!!!!

Blogging this with my iPhone so no picture editing - sorry! The storm also knocked out the wireless, so no computers.
Hugs & Blessings!
