I finished the top for my 2012 UFOChallenge last night, and that used 4.25 yards of fabric. I haven’t sandwiched it yet, so I can’t count the backing. You can see the post with details on this quilt here.
I did sandwich these two wall hangings, and I figure I used about 1.5 yards for backing on them.
In addition, I quilted one UFO that used about 4.5 yards for the backing and .5 yards for the binding that is now attached and ready to be hand-sewn down.
